Tonicia Williams is a Senior Associate in the Litigation and Restructuring practice at Conyers. She was called to the Cayman Islands Bar in 2014 and has since built a strong reputation in commercial and civil litigation. In 2023, Tonicia was selected to participate in Conyers’ secondment programme, allowing her to work from the firm’s Hong Kong office and gain valuable onshore experience.
Tonicia holds an LLB (Hons) from Kingston University in the United Kingdom. She began her legal career in the Attorney General’s Chambers of the Cayman Islands, where she completed her Articles and was employed as Crown Counsel before transitioning to private practice in 2016.
With over a decade of experience in commercial and civil litigation matters, her practice focusses on insolvency proceedings, shareholder disputes, trust and estate litigation, and regulatory disputes. Tonicia regularly advises a diverse client base, including insolvency professionals, directors, shareholders, local entities, insurers, and professional service providers. She frequently appears before the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands, both independently and as part of a team.
From January to October 2023, Tonicia served as the Deputy Chairperson of the Cayman Islands National Minimum Wage Committee, representing the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association. A committed advocate for community service, she has volunteered for over a decade with local charities such as the Kiwanis Club of Grand Cayman and one2one Cayman (formerly Big Brothers Big Sisters Cayman).
Tonicia was appointed as a Member of the Commission for Standards in Public Life effective 1 May 2025, for a four-year term.
